Ron, that depends on the mill. The X2 (MicroMark) mills can handle a 4" rotary table and 4" vise (but that is on the big side but what I use). The Grizzly G0702 can handle a 5" vise easily and 6" rotary table. I use a 4" Phase II rotary on both machines and it works great. I had bought an import rotary and ended up selling it to get the Phase II. I think the old adage "buy once, buy quality" applies!

For lots more info on converting the G0704 see Hoss' site. I bought and used his phase 2 plans and they were great. I am making an auto tool changer and power draw bar now.

Have you seen my video on milling ported side plates on my MicroMark? It might give you an idea of what you can do on a CNC mill!

cheers,
Michael
